The David Lynch Foundation will be hosting an extraordinary night of music at The Anthem in Washington DC on October 11th. The “Silence the Violence” benefit concert is headlined by Katy Perry, Norah Jones, and Mavis Staples. This concert directly benefit the communities in and around Washington DC as money raised will be used to to bring transcendental meditation technique to 10,000 at-risk youths in Washington, D.C.
In addition to the headliners, there will be uplifting entertainment by the Celebration Gospel Choir and Jeremy Elliot.
Silence the Violence event proceeds will be used to bring the evidence-based Transcendental Meditation technique to vulnerable communities in the District through in-school and after school programs, religious and community centers, recovery programs, and detention centers in partnership with THEARC (Town Hall Education Arts Recreation Campus).
In coordination with the benefit concert, Silence The Violence has established a Town Hall in Washington DC the week before on October 4.
This is your opportunity to see Katy Perry, Norah Jones, Mavis Staples under the same roof for one massive celebration that directly benefits our community. (And do we need to also tell you that this is your opportunity to get close to Norah Jones and Katy Perry who normally perform to sold out arenas.)
We look forward to seeing you there as the David Lynch Foundation continues to provide sustainable and long term solutions to make our community better place both now and in the future.
