Blue Ox Live From The Pines Gives a Taste of Festival Life

While plans for festival season 2020 are looking quite differently then they did at the beginning of the year, what is keeping live music junkies going is all of the artists we love streaming from home.  Sadly, most events that were going to be destinations for a lot of us over the next few months have already been cancelled and/or rescheduled for 2021.

Blue Ox Music Festival however, is one that is still holding out hope for the powers that be to give the green light to their new August date.  In the meantime, organizers of the festival are throwing something new and fun into the mix, during what was supposed to be the annual events original date.

Pert Near Sandstone, the group that hosts the festival up in Eau Claire, Wisconsin at the Whispering Pines Campground, is planning to try a new spin on their usual fun next month.   Coinciding with the release of their newest album Rising Tide, due out on June 12th, the band will convene at the beloved site of the festival to play together while fans watch from home.  Playing music new and old for fans to enjoy from the comfort of their own setups is what this event is all about, however far or near that might be.

A press release that went out last week describes what is to be a two-part celebration of music brought to you by the Blue Ox Family:

Blue Ox Music Festival: Live from the Pines will be setting up its stage to bring some of your favorite Bluegrass, Americana, and Roots artists performing live from the music festival grounds. Pert Near Sandstone will perform two nights onstage, along with artist friends Charlie Parr, Lissie, and Them Coulee Boys. With Sam Bush, Del McCoury, The Travelin’ McCourys, Lillie Mae, and Molly Tuttle, performing sets from their hometowns. The top shelf artists are thrilled to come out and support Blue Ox Music Festival: Live from the Pines and at the same time celebrate the new release of Pert Near Sandstone’s new album.

Blue Ox Music Festival: Live From Home can be viewed on the official Blue Ox Music Festival YouTube and Facebook channels and will be streamed in partnership with JamGrass TV, The Current, Bell’s Brewery, Northern Sun Productions and the host, Blue Ox Music Festival.

The live broadcast is free to all viewers, yet contributions are encouraged and appreciated, with part of the proceeds going to the performing artists, as well as benefiting the Cleghorn Lions Club, National T.T.T. Society, and the Chippewa Valley Technical College Radiology Department – which are organizations that have graciously volunteered for Blue Ox over the years; and the Feed My People Food Bank of Wisconsin.
