If you have been following the jam band scene and attending festivals over the last few years, you may have taken notice of Boston-based band Neighbor.
The Boston-based jam quartet, which began as a collaboration between Pink Talking Fish keyboardist Richard James and his childhood neighbor, guitarist Lyle Brewer has rapidly grown from a hidden gem to a burgeoning musical juggernaut. James and Brewer rounded out the band with bassist Dan Kelly and drummer Dean Johnston. What started as a simple residency each Tuesday at Thunder Road in Somerville, Massachusetts, has transformed into a band that delivers accolades for memorable performances at 420 Festival, Levitate Music and Arts Festival, Peach Festival, and most recently at Ramble Festival.
With a diverse catalog of hundreds of songs, Neighbor has become one of the most exciting and unpredictable live bands on the music scene today. Their songs combine ambitious composition, soulful balladry, and a fearless approach to their lengthy improvisation that is layered over a solid groove foundation of groove.
What makes Neighbor special? Seeing them live helps you understand what makes them so remarkable - not only is it their mesmerizing jams, but it is the band's symbiotic relationship with their devoted fans - called Neighbors. This symbiotic relationship between the band and the audience touches every performance.
We certainly hope you get to join Neighbor and settle in amongst your fellow Neighbors at The Hamilton in Washington, DC, on November 4th.
Come to The Hamilton to see what's good in the neighborhood.
