With the music industry back in full swing, the 2023 Outdoor Festival Season looks to be a banner year for live music season. Festival announcements and updates have been popping up left and right almost daily.

Late last week, Appaloosa Festival announced its lineup for its 2023 edition. We have been eagerly anticipating and keeping a keen eye on the lineup announcement from Appaloosa Festival since we attended the 2022 edition.

If your heart soars to the sound of roots music - then look no further because you will love the Appaloosa Festival. This roots music festival is held at Skyline Ranch Resort Front Royal, Virginia, just a short drive from the Nation's Capital. This festival offers a full spectrum of roots music, including Bluegrass, Celtic, Americana, and Indie-Folk.

The creative force behind the festival are hometown heros Scythian. This national touring act spends much of its year traveling throughout the United States, captivating audiences from coast to coast. While on the road, the band keeps a close eye out and takes notice of burgeoning acts, and can spot these diamonds in the rough up close.

Over the years, the festival has hosted some of America's most talented and well-recognized musicians well before they became household names. In years past, Appaloosa Festival has hosted Fireside CollectiveMandoline OrangeMipsoSierra HullMolly Tuttle, and Billy Strings.   Last year's headliner - Molly Tuttle - went on to win the Grammy for "Best Bluegrass Album." So keen is Scythian's eye for spotting talent they have embraced this "festival superpower" by stating that Appaloosa "Is Where You Find The Next Big Thing." This year's lineup is no exception.

Appaloosa Festival 2023

Beyond the compelling music and spectacular lineup, this is an opportunity to enjoy Labor Day weekend with your family in a low-key, family-friendly atmosphere with workshops and child-oriented performances. Moreso, you may just find a headlining act performing for your children under a small tent or have musical workshops by the stars of tomorrow. This festival offers plenty of fun for a quick trip out of town after re-adjusting to back-to-school schedules and traffic patterns. A kid's zone, beer garden, craft vendors, and four stages are sure to entertain everyone.

Scythian is not the only one with keen eyes - you will notice that the 2023 lineup has a 'To Be Announced' placeholder. Knowing Appaloosa's knack for spotting and signing talent, there is little doubt that upcoming lineup editions will make fans exceptionally happy and grateful when those last acts are announced.
