Greensky Bluegrass is a five-piece bluegrass band founded in Kalamazoo, Michigan.  Originally three members, the band soon evolved into a five piece band. Greensky Bluegrass is Paul Hoffman (mandolin), Dave Bruzza (guitar), Michael Bont (banjo), Anders Beck (dobro), and Mike Devol (double bass). In addition to a large catalog of original material, Greensky Bluegrass is known for transforming the songs of other artists into inspired bluegrass interpretations. On any given night, you can expect this band to play covers from a wide array of artists including Dire Straits, Bob Marley & The Wailers, Van Morrision, Phish, Bruce Springsteen, and the Traveling Wilburys amongst others. In late 2017, shortly after the passing of Tom Petty,  Greensky Bluegrass performed an inspired version of "Breakdown".  Fans of this band are known as 'Campers' and chances are if you are reading this page, you are a Camper too!
The DMV is very fortunate to have them come back year after year to the 9:30 Club for a run of shows.  In 2017 they were the first band to open and christen the Chrysalis Amphitheater in Symphony Woods right aside Merriweather Post Pavillion in Columbia, Maryland.
