Welcome home! We're just so absolutely happy for you and not at all jealous that you got to spend nearly a week on Jam Cruise with a bunch of great people and musicians while we were stuck in the cold. Of course this district never stops, so even when the government shuts down the jam scene keeps doing what we do best. Here's a roundup of all the exciting things you missed while you were dancing across the water.
- Speaking of "dancing across the water," Skaii had a fantastic debut at Bossa Bistro & Lounge and after a set of mostly original music by Stephanie Kaiser they brought up various musicians from the DC jam community for a Neil Young set that included a powerful "Cortez the Killer." Emma Bleker joined Skaii for a moving tribute to Dolores O'Riordan of The Cranberries. You can find more videos and audio of the entire show with our review.
- Circles Around the Sun headlined the 9:30 Club for their first time, with a mesmerizing set of their unique take on the music of the Dead. Check out their set opening "Scarlotta's Magnolias" below. You can find photos and matrix audio of their entire show with our review.
- Boombox came back to the 9:30 Club with a bunch of new music in tow. Check out their set closing "Shakedown Street" below. You can find the entire set and photos with our review.
- Of Tomorrow opened for Boombox and we were on scene to livestream that set.
- Antibalas put on two nights of incredible music at The Hamilton. Check out the set from the first night below. You can listen to both nights and see our photos with our review.
