Canadian indie band Wild Rivers came to Union Stage in Washington, DC on August 9.
This folk-pop quartet performed to a packed venue. The band's songs are very accessible and exude heartfelt emotions spanning love and longing to the rock-poppy "I Won't Be Back". The band is comprised of Khalid Yassein (vocals, guitar), Devan Glover (vocals & bass), Andrew Oliver (guitar), and Ben Labenski (drums). They are known for their beautiful harmonies and a memorable stage presence. At the end of the evening's performance, the band walked off stage only to delight fans further as they gathered in the center of the floor, performing an intimate acoustic experience.
If you love folk music with a hint of country and pop, be sure to add Wild Rivers to your list. This is not the first, and we hope it's not the last time WIld Rivers comes to our region.
