Summary: The Local Scene is ALIVE
So many great shows and as always, our local artists are making waves all over the DMV this week. Featured above is the dynamic, Baltimore-based hip-hop band Soul Cannon, who I happened to see last year on a whim. Their show at Velvet Lounge ended up being one of the most mind-and-body moving performances I've seen all year and they quickly rose up to become one of my favorite local bands. They are playing this Wednesday at the fabulous Ottobar with two INCREDIBLE and well-loved bands, Speedy Ortiz and Deerhoof, for what will be a highlight show for this week.
