Blue Ox Music Festival
Date: June 11-13, 2019 Location: Eau Claire, WI
Blue Ox was founded in 2015, with the vision of an intimate music and camping experience focused on string band, roots, Americana, and bluegrass genres. The three-day festival is a unique chance to be a part of an environment with so many notable artists in one special venue setting – mixing music and outdoor activities.
The Blue Ox Music Festival offers a wonderful sense of artistic community as part of the cultural renaissance movement in the Eau Claire area.
Located at Whispering Pines Campground, the festival grounds include 100 acres of mature forest and park like lawns with music presented on three distinct stages – main stage, saloon stage, and late night backwoods stage. The variety of fresh, quality, local artisan food, and favorite beverages from Bell’s Brewery and Tattersall, offer something delicious for everyone to enjoy, with world-famous Midwestern hospitality in a scenic environment.
What's new for 2019? Potluck Pickin’ Place! The Potluck String Band (PSB) is an organically grown band of festivarians that play in bluegrass festival campgrounds. PSB creates a “Natural Habitat for Pickers” around their campfire, where musicians can meet new and old friends and play until the sun comes up!
What else is there to do besides just music? Cultural events take place throughout the festival grounds, including artist workshops, morning yoga and kids stages with diverse activities.
There is Yoga free to all patrons Friday and Saturday morning at 9 a.m. Bring your mat and stretch out before your day of dancing. Food vendors will open at 8 a.m. each day. Enjoy extra time with your campsite neighbors.
Is the festival family friendly? Yes! Lots of activities for the little ones and also family camping available.
There are child friendly activities at the Family Stage during the day that include crafts and entertainment. There is also an open area for other yard games. Children 13 and under are admitted free to the festival.
