Colony House Is Coming To The 9:30 Club On March 5th

Indie Rock band Colony House is coming to the 9:30 Club on Sunday, March 5th, 2023, along with Little Image.  This "landlocked surf rock" band released their fourth album, The Cannonballers, earlier this month and have been crisscrossing, or should we say cannonballing, across the United States in support of this incredible new album.

Twenty-Twenty-Three has been a banner year for Colony House.  Less than two weeks ago, they kicked off their Cannonballers Tour at a sold-out performance at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium and will spend the next few months on the road.  In June, they will make their Bonnaroo debut. Their lead single off of their latest album, "Cannonballers",   just cracked the top 40 on the iHeart Alt-Rock Chart!

The "landlocked surf rock" band has a storied history - their debut album, When I Was Younger, included the single “Silhouettes,” which became the #1 most-played track on Sirius XM’s Alt Nation for four months straight. They followed up with Only The Lonely, including the surf-rock hit, "You Know It," which went viral on Tik Tok and has amassed 100 million streams across all platforms to date. They've appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers, CONANThe Today Show, VH1’s “Morning Buzz,” and MTV Live and more, as well as at festivals like Shaky Knees, Austin City Limits, Firefly, WonderBus, and Lollapalooza.

While *on pause* in 2020, after the release of Leave What's Lost Behind, Colony House produced and directed a full-length feature film, “Everybody’s Looking For Some Light,” which debuted at a two-day drive-in event at Greystone Quarry in Franklin, TN, and was an official selection at the Nashville and Knoxville Film Festivals. The Cannonballers is an apt addition to the Colony House catalog, which includes songs like "Silhouettes," which became the #1 most-played track on Sirius XM’s Alt Nation for four months straight when it debuted in 2014, and the surf-rock viral hit, "You Know It," that has amassed 100 million streams across all platforms to date.

The music of Colony House is made up of brothers Will Chapman and Caleb Chapman, as well as Scott Mills and Parke Cottrell. Their personal genre designation is as much inspired by their hometown of Franklin, Tennessee, as their new album The Cannonballers.  “In short, Tennessee was the inspiration for this project,” frontman Caleb Chapman says. “We got to see the seasons change and experience our home again for the first time in a long time. I think I was falling back in love with Tennessee, and I started revisiting some old memories and old relationships in my head that pertained to certain geographical locations as well as just emotional places I had spent my most formative years.”  We think many of us can relate to how we spent the early part of the pandemic.

We have included links to their 2021 live album, "Colony House Live, Vol 1", below so you can get a small sliver of what you will hear when you see them perform live. We cannot wait to hear Colony House perform at the 9:30 Club on March 5th, and hear these, along with new songs, resonate inside this beloved DC venue.
