David Shaw (of The Revivalists) Coming To Union Stage

The last time David Shaw appeared in Washington, DC, was February 29th, 2020, when The Revivalists performed at The Anthem. On December 18, 2021 Shaw returns the DMV when he performs at Union Stage supported by The Ries Brothers.  A lot has happened since then, but artists like Shaw have used their time off the road to look inward, find inspiration, use their time for charitable causes, and create new music.

Earlier this year, Shaw released his debut self-titled solo album. With this new album and new music under his belt, Shaw follows the direction of his own internal compass as a solo artist, riling up his raw rock 'n' roll impulses as he opens up like never before as a lyricist, poet, and storyteller. True to his songwriting style, Shaw's album comprises of many high-spirited, danceable, and soulful tracks. Songs like "Got Me Feeling Good" are sure to make you feel good and get up and dance when you hear it - and imagine what that song is going to sound like live in an intimate setting.

To kick off the holiday season, Shaw recently released a tender cover of the holiday classic “Blue Christmas,” most famously performed by Elvis PresleyThe harmonious reimagining strips back the soulful pop ballad and transforming its simplistic ambiance with delicate guitars and Shaw's crooning vocals. We can only hope he can croon this timeless classic to the audience at Union Stage.

While fans are used to Shaw performing to thousands of adoring fans, the Union Stage performance is a rare opportunity to see Shaw up close at a 450 person capacity venue. Although Union Stage show goers will not have the chance to see Shaw dart across a a giant stage like a bumblebee, this also provides an intimate setting for Shaw to reach out into the crowd and connect with his audience.  This is a rare opportunity to see Shaw perform in a small venue as we see him pluck each chord on his acoustic guitar, dance upon the stage, and to especially enjoy his new songs alongside David Shaw fans and fellow Revheads.

Please listen to his wonderful album below and purchase tickets to this performance because this show is likely to sell out quick!
