Last night's Gordon Sterling Presents: The Gypsy Sally's Jam was one for the books. In the midst of a sea of incredible music, we were treated to this standout performance by a new face to the jam, Dior Ashley Brown. She was joined by Will Berger on bass, David Garber on keys, David Ray on drums, Kevin Pons on guitar, and one other guitarist who's name we have not tracked down yet (a sign of the jam's continued growth, every week brings new talent). Relive the magic with this video:
As Gordon points out at the end of the video, this crew had never played together, having been derived from the buckets. For those of you that are not yet familiar with the bucket jams, Gordon puts a bucket out for each instrument and vocals and people put their name in the bucket corresponding to what they want to play. A group is chosen at random, and given about 10-15 minutes to jam together. It is musical improvisation at its finest, and you never know just what you are going to get.
