Gangstagrass And The Ron Holloway Band Performing At The Hamilton’s TTB Afterparties

The Tedeschi Trucks Band's Waner Theatre residency is part of the Washington DC musical fabric. With each residency, The Hamilton holds one or more late-night afterparties. These late-night performances add to the legend of the otherwise already outstanding performances held at The Warner Theatre. How many stories have we heard of Ron Holloway having diner with Waren Haynes at The Hamilton's restaurant or Susan Tedeschi, Kebbi Williams, and other members of Tedeschi Trucks Band making an appearance on stage?

This coming weekend brings two bands that are no strangers to the region - Gangstagrass and The Ron Holloway Band.

Gangstagrass has been mixing it up at bluegrass festivals around the country, including our very own Kingman Island Bluegrass & Folk Festival and Charm City Bluegrass Festival. Many will agree that Gangstagrass' 2019 Charm City Bluegrass performance was the hidden gem of the festival - seen by a few hundred and talked about by a few thousand. Gangstagrass combines the great American traditions of bluegrass and hip-hop to create a whole new musical genre that is more than the sum of its parts. Now we know what you may be thinking " bluegrass combined with hip-hop - inconceivable!" But, as much as this may sound like two genres that are too different to work, we have seen them perform live multiple times, and it works, and it sounds incredible - even better than you would guess. The name might also sound familiar if you watched America's Got Talent when they performed in 2021. In addition, their latest album, No Time For Enemies, climbed to #1 on the Billboard bluegrass chart.

Gangstagrass will perform twice on Friday, February 18th - an early show at 8:00 PM and a late-night afterparty at 11:30 PM.

The Ron Holloway Band, and Ron Holloway for that matter, need no introduction to music lovers around Washington DC. Ron Holloway is a living legend and hometown hero who has graced the stages around the country and around the world. Sometimes we feel it is easier to list the musicians and bands that Ron Holloway has not collaborated with rather than the other way around. Holloway has been a band member of / special guest of / frequent collaborator of way too many artists to list individually. Holloway now leads his own project - a sax-driven funk machine appropriately named The Ron Holloway Band.  This band has graced the stages throughout the DMV and has performed as far as The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival.

The Ron Holloway Band will perform on Saturday, February 19th, at 11:15 PM.
