DC funk band AZTEC SUN has been making some big moves, and just announced today that they will be recording an album next month with Alan Evans of Soulive at his Iron Wax Recording Studio in Massachusetts. This is a band to watch out for, and more importantly, to go see live.

Last month, we were fortunate to catch their set at an end of the year party at The Howard Theatre.  Today we are releasing some video, matrix audio of the entire set, and some behind the scenes moments with the band. Fans of the DC Scene-In-Review podcast will recognize this debut of their new song, "Resist!" from our December episode, which includes an interview with Stephane Detchou of AZTEC SUN.  Steph told us that the song, which is written in Pidgin English, is meant as a rallying anthem with the cadence of a protest or march.

You can catch them at Pearl Street Warehouse with the JoGo Project on February 9th, and you can enjoy our full set recording of their show at The Howard Theatre last month and lots of photos below.
