The Nextival – Maryland’s Largest Foodie Music Festival is Back for a Fourth Round

Listening to music and eating…. name a better way to spend a weekend, because I certainly can’t.

That is exactly what you should be doing this weekend at the 4th annual Nextival, at the Anne Arundel County Fairgrounds in Maryland.  Aside from being Maryland's largest foodie/music festival, there will be helicopter rides offered to festival-goers. The lineup features a widespread list of bands and artists who are mainly local, as the festival is curated to promote talented local artists who are on the rise to larger scale recognition.

Bands like Runaway Gin, Surprise Attack, Suga Grits, and Backbeat Underground. The set list delivers a widespread variety from tributes to Phish, smooth indie jams, and soulful sounds. Individual artists like Sarah Paige and Nicky Stacy will be on stage as well, giving the crowd something a bit slower and melodic.

Nextival is the largest foodie/music festival in Maryland, and this year it will feature some of the regions greatest food and music,” said Andy Greenberg of Runaway Gin. Being the largest Phish tribute band in the world, Runaway Gin gained attention in 2015 after they performed in the Grateful Dead GD50 run.

There is enough diversity in not only the music, but also the food that there is a little bit of something for everyone who treks out to the campground. “We are incredibly excited to take part in a festival experience that so clearly appreciates musicians and vendors, but also still keeps things affordable,” said Satya Thaliam of Backbeat Underground. Backbeat Underground has become increasingly more popular in the DC area as they have showcased their unique combination of funk and jazz.

As for the food, there will be everything from Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls to Peruvian Brothers’ sandwiches, and no shortage of beer and wine to go around.
