One of the things that has really amazed me from quarentine and the past few months in general is how adaptable people are. What I mean by this is how many people have the ability to take the limited opportunities and abilities the world is presenting right now and turn them into something really amazing. To highlight this, I wanted to reach out to the community and see what music people have been working on in the midst of the pandemic and the new guidelines the world has currently. I loved listening to all of the submissions and suggestions of things people have created in this time and it was inspiring in a lot of ways to me to see that creativity has flourished despite many factors that could potentially stifle it.
Below is a list of some of my favorite songs people submitted to be considered for this playlist, many of whom are local to the DC area, who have been working on new stuff in the past few months. As some of these are not on Spotify, I have linked ways to listen to each of them.
- 1"Moonlight" by Cosmic Superheroes
- 2"Sunshine" by Something Simple
- 3"Friday Night" by Southern Ocean
- 4"As Far As We Know" by Crushed Velvet and the Velveteers (featuring Brother Goodlove & Alan Evans)
- 5"Weightless" by Elizabeth II
