Rock-and-roll soul queen Grace Potter is set to perform at The Anthem on Saturday, January 27th.
The last time this Vermont wild-child rock and roller performed at The Anthem was back on January 25th, 2020, where she showed off her stunning stage presence combined with her beautiful, booming voice that commanded the attention of the audience for two hours.
This month, Potter kicks off her latest tour supporting her latest album - Mother Road. This brilliant album is the follow-up to the Grammy-nominated album Daylight. Mother Road marks the start of a thrilling new era of a career that has included seven acclaimed albums, sharing the stage with the likes of The Rolling Stones, Robert Plant, Bob Wier, Tedeschi Trucks Band, and the Allman Brothers Band, and has played nearly every major music festival in America including the DMV's beloved Floyd Festival. This album consists of ten larger-than-life tracks and fuses elements of soul, blues, country, and timeless rock-and-roll with masterful abandon.
Describing the experience of creating this album, Potter said, "I didn't have any real intention of making a record; I just thought I'd get into a room with some friends and mess around with these unfinished ideas I'd been gathering," she says. "But then an entire album fell out of me, including all the lyrics—the blanks had been filled in, like my subconscious had created finished sentences spoken distinctly from the perspective of all these characters that were living inside me."
Give this album a listen if you have not already because there are a few hip-shaking instant classics in there that we look forward to seeing performed live at The Anthem and across the country.
Baltimore native Brittney Spencer will support Grace Potter's Anthem performance and is supporting her latest album My Stupid Life which will be released on January 19th, 2024..
Be prepared to buckle up for a rock-and-roll journey with Potter, her stunning voice, dynamic stage presence, behind the piano and of course her iconic Flying V guitar.
