Relive The Dan Lipton Trio’s Soothing Set at Gypsy Sally’s [Video, Audio, Photos]

"We are the Vinyl Lounge house band," Dan Lipton joked after opening their set on the main stage at Gypsy Sally's last Thursday, supporting Yes Darling at their DC debut on April 5. The Dan Lipton Trio is no stranger to this Georgetown venue, though they are typically found in the Vinyl Lounge bar accessed through the back alley.

This three-piece act  features Dan Lipton as their frontman on guitar and vocals, Ken Cobb on bass, and Gypsy Sally's own, Baptiste Bourgade, on cajón. Their sound evokes an Americana songwriting style that sits comfortably at home on this stage.

Akin to great songwriters such as James Taylor, this trio writes even more melancholy lyrics like those found in 'Water Rising' that comes across as pleasantly soothing and peaceful. They will be back at the Vinyl Lounge on April 20 and you can find them at New Deal Cafe on May 22. Relive their full set below with video, audio, and photos from the night.
