We are excited that Shadowgrass is coming to Pearl Street Warehouse on May 7th, 2023.

They may not be on your radar yet - but they should be!  We have watched this band from afar gain steam and gather momentum for some time.

In the summer of 2022, the band began to grab people’s attention by posting a series of Instagram reels showcasing their music. Six months later, they found themselves with 111,000 followers (and counting) and a growing fanbase.   Following their self-titled debut album release, they were featured on Spotify’s editorial playlists, “Bluegrass Covers,” “Grassroots,” and “Instrumental Bluegrass.

Since the summer of 2022, this band has continued to gain momentum, gain fans, and expand their reach beyond Western North Carolina.  Don't take our word for it, even Billy Strings recognized them and stopped to talk to them in an airport while on tour recently.  Only a few weeks ago, Jeremy Garrett of The Infamous Stringdusters announced he would launch a small solo tour featuring Shadowgrass!

Each of the band members grew up embracing and being influenced by traditional music, which heavily influenced their approach to music.  The band includes Kyser George (guitar), Luke Morris (mandolin),  Clay Russell (banjo), Evan Campfield (bass), and Madison Morris (fiddle).   With their fast picking and fresh arrangements, Shadowgrass is moving forward in the bluegrass genre by incorporating each member’s varied influences into a fresh project that branches outside the bounds of traditional music while maintaining traditional instrumentation.  All of the members are award-winning musicians. ShadowGrass is striving to be the next torchbearers to carry on bluegrass music to future generations.  Their foot-tapping music and charming personalities continue to draw a crowd and gain encouraging fans with each new place they visit.

We are certainly looking forward to their first visit to Washington, DC, and we are certain it will not be their last visit either.
