Skaii, the new project led by Stephanie Kaiser, made their debut last week with a near capacity crowd at Bossa Bistro & Lounge in Adams Morgan. The band opened the night with a fleet of original songs written by Steph, some as recently as the weeks prior and some when she was as young as 16 years old. Joining her in Skaii is Dave Salvo (The Last Rewind, The Beirds) on guitar and backup vocals, Neel Singh (Drop Electric, Staycation) on bass, and Jason Hayes (Not At Liberty, Bad Krohma, and as of recently Drop Electric) on drums.

The band welcomed Emma Bleker (Nah.) to the stage to take one of only two covers during the opening set; a powerful tribute to Dolores O'Riordan, of the Cranberries after her passing on the 15th.

After their debut performance, they brought musicians from across DC's jam community up for a set of Neil Young covers. You can see just who was in on each song in the set list below. And relive the entire show with a video playlist by Sandi Redman, and audio by Will UrquhartAnd you can catch Skaii opening up for The Beirds at Songbyrd on February 18th. Tickets start at $10 and go on sale today at noon.
