So much happening this week, as always, and we are lucky for it!<\/p>\n

Our feature this week is the tremendous DC-based band The OSYX<\/a><\/strong>, made up of five artists who have come together, bringing their own unique strength, musicality, and passion into one pro-womxn collective whose music is singularly original, largely raucous and at times silvery. They are releasing their first full-length album on Friday night at Comet Ping Pong<\/a> at a show that features the unique and incomparable Black Folks Don’t Swim?<\/strong> <\/a>and the lush sounds of The Meer<\/a><\/strong>. (And if you miss it, The OSYX are also playing on Saturday with <\/span>Shagw\u00fcf and Sarah FM <\/a>at Baltimore Free Farm.)<\/p>\n

The band also forms the backbone of This Could Go Boom!<\/a><\/strong>, a non-profit that, “curates, creates, publishes, promotes, and distributes the musical works of under represented gender diverse people.” They will be hosting a discussion on starting a record label and the importance of gender equality in the music industry at Gallery Experience: This Could Go Boom!<\/a> on Tuesday at Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden.<\/p>\n
