The film includes rare in-studio performance footage, along with numerous warm and candid interviews from fellow musicians <strong>Derek Trucks<\/strong>, <strong>Susan Tedeschi<\/strong>, <strong>Victor Wooten<\/strong>, <strong>Jimmy Herring<\/strong>, <strong>Oteil Burbridge<\/strong>,<strong> Tim Lefebvre<\/strong>, <strong>Adam Nitti<\/strong>,<strong> Nigel Hall<\/strong>,<strong> Aadam &#8220;Shmeeans&#8221; Smirnoff<\/strong>,<strong> Roy Vogt<\/strong> and <strong>Regi Wooten<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><span><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"113961\" width=\"618\" data-init-width=\"1024\" height=\"412\" data-init-height=\"684\" title=\"Kofi\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.dcmusicreview.com\/staging\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/JBG_8371.jpg\" data-width=\"618\" data-height=\"412\" ml-t=\"-100\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Kofi Burbridge and Derek Trucks perform at Warner Theatre in 2018.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re thrilled to introduce this new documentary series to music fans around the world,&#8221; says Ace Entertainment President<strong>&nbsp;Tom Emmi<\/strong>. &#8220;Having Kofi be our first honoree means a lot to me personally. He touched and inspired so many throughout his career, including me.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;You don\u2019t meet many geniuses in your life, and you really don\u2019t get a chance to share a huge chunk of your life with them\u2026It was a hell of a gift,\u201d notes Trucks, Kofi\u2019s longtime bandmate in <strong>The Derek Trucks Band<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Tedeschi Trucks Band<\/strong>. &nbsp;\u201cHe just made everything better and everything cool.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKofi had such an open mind,\u201d says his brother,&nbsp;<strong>Oteil Burbridge<\/strong>, \u201csuch an incredible imagination. He was always my teacher &#8211; and he was always so far ahead of me. This 501(c)3 foundation helps to keep music alive in schools by providing brand-new musical instruments to under-funded music programs nationwide.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cLest We Forget: Kofi Burbridge\u201d<\/strong>&nbsp;is an extension of Ace Entertainment\u2019s \u201cLest We Forget\u201d effort \u2013 a series of short video specials, now in its 4th year, that honor important musicians and music industry icons &nbsp;&#8211; from all genres &#8211; who dedicated so much of their lives to push music forward. Lest We Forget is a not-for-profit program. All the producers, musicians, cameramen, editors and studios have donated their time and skills in the production of these programs.
