Sam Weber <\/span><\/strong>is performing at the Pie Shop<\/strong> in Washington DC, supporting his latest album, <\/span>Get Free<\/span><\/em>, on March 17th, 2022.  <\/span>Sam Weber fans will be relieved to hear that his internal reckoning about quitting everything a starting fresh didn\u2019t end up taking root. Instead, he took those emotions and placed them into his upcoming album, which will be released on February 4th, 2022.  <\/span><\/p>\n

On the other hand, Weber has turned his daydreams into one hell of a song \u2014 \u201cGet Out of the Game.\u201d <\/span>Glide Magazine<\/span><\/strong> commented, \u201cWith his old-soul voice, Weber delivers a heartfelt morsel of indie-folk that brings to mind the poppier 70s folk of artists like <\/span>Emitt Rhodes<\/span><\/strong>. He also plays with a melange of instrumental textures and tempos to give the song a truly eclectic and intriguing sound, and the home video footage makes this song feel extra personal as Weber reflects on the changes and passions that come in the artistic journey.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

Delivering a vocal somewhere between<\/span> Paul Simon<\/span><\/strong> and <\/span>Van Morrison <\/span><\/strong>with a timbre all his own, Weber sings a refrain of \u201cSomewhere down the line we made a promise that no pain or money would change anything\u201d amongst a journey through vibrant, road-trip verses. The tunes sound as if a New Orleans second-line parade somehow wound up around a campfire on a locals-only surf beach, helped along by drummer <\/span>Danny Austin-Manning<\/span><\/strong> and guest percussionist <\/span>Dawes\u2019 Griffin Goldsmith<\/span><\/strong>. In an instant, \u201cGet Out of the Game\u201d transfigures into a spacey interlude with enough legs to keep even the most grizzled deadhead second-set grooving before launching back into the song\u2019s final verses.  <\/span><\/p>\n
