It always feels like Christmas when we hear the news “<\/span>Andy Frasco & The U.N.<\/span><\/strong> are coming to town.” Not only are they coming to town on <\/span>April 14th<\/span><\/strong> at <\/span>The Baltimore Soundstage<\/span><\/strong> alongside <\/span>Twiddle<\/span><\/strong>, but they will bring a brand new record in tow – Wash, rinse, repeat<\/em>. <\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

During their recent <\/span>Hot August Music Festival<\/span><\/strong> appearance, <\/span>Andy Frasco<\/span><\/strong> mentioned how his band finally landed a record deal. The audience took in this information, did an internal dance of delight, and then we celebrated and danced as if this was our last day on earth and we should squeak every ounce of joy out of it. Frasco and his band are known to make an audience feel this way each and every time these rapscallions take to the stage. <\/span><\/p>\n

Many would walk away from Hot August wondering when a new album would materialize and what that album might sound like. <\/span>Under the Radar<\/span><\/a> sums up the new album best, “Wash, Rinse, Repeat<\/em> feels like the soundtrack to the best block party of your life. The band’s sunny mix of soul, pop, and rock is a feel-good delight, transforming the album’s introspective origins into life-affirming, party-ready music. Frasco sets the stage with the heartwarming opening lyrics, tributing the real and vibrant connections that can feel all too lacking as of late.”<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span>Frasco speaks about the new album, “This album means a lot to me because it sparked new ideas of what life is about. I’ve been on tour for so long that I have never been in my house for this long ever. I got sad, I got confused, I got existential because all these feelings were new. Normally I can run away to the next town, see new things and distract myself if I’m feeling sad or depleted. But during this pandemic, I really had to stay at home, live with the demons in my head and figure them out myself. Through this, I found who I am and what I like a little more as I’m getting older. I’m just trying to be friends with my brain again.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking of his first single from the new album Frasco reflects and says, “‘Wash, Rinse, Repeat’ the single is about the PTSD of being in your house for too long. We forgot who we were before this pandemic. Now that we are slowly coming out of this, it’s time to follow our dreams again. Get outside, explore, maybe fall in love with someone or ourselves again. The Renaissance is around the corner.”<\/span><\/p>\n

This brings us to his upcoming Baltimore performance with Twiddle. Even before news of the new album, we were delighted when we read that Twiddle’s Spring Tour would feature Andy Frasco & The U.N. This pairing of two immeasurably talented and fun artists seems like a tour that we many will remember for years to come.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Twiddle<\/span><\/p>\n

When Twiddle from Vermont shows up, the audience is always treated to the extraordinary interplay between band members. So be prepared to hear peaking guitar solos from Mihali <\/span>Mihali Savoulidis<\/span><\/strong>,<\/span> <\/span><\/strong>masterful keyboard skills from<\/span> Ryan “Norb” Demey, <\/span><\/strong>powerful “Gubb Dump” solos from bassist <\/span>Zdenek Gubb<\/span><\/strong> that are all backed by the authoritative drumming of <\/span>Brook Jordan.  <\/span><\/strong>Twiddle is no stranger to the DMV and regularly appears in our region – sometimes at the <\/span>9:30 Club<\/span><\/strong> for a Halloween-run, sometimes at <\/span>Devil’s Backbone<\/span><\/strong>, and sometimes at The Baltimore Soundstage or <\/span>Ram’s Head Live<\/span><\/strong>. The last time Twiddle performed at The Baltimore Soundstage, we saw hometown hero <\/span>Jeremy Schon<\/span><\/strong> of <\/span>Pigeons Playing Ping Pong<\/span><\/strong> make a special appearance.  <\/span><\/p>\n

Andy Frasco & The U.N. are known for their mind-blowing frenetic energy and entertaining stage shenanigans. Seeing either of these two bands is a compelling reason to come to the Baltimore Soundstage – but both bands performing on the same bill make this show a must for any music lover! We know that whenever Andy Frasco & The U.N. or Twiddle are in town, we can expect an enjoyable, unscripted, and memorable night of soul-smiling musical moments.<\/span><\/p>\n

Two months from this performance, we sit and ponder the fantastical moments that lay ahead. What will Twiddle and Andy Frasco & The U.N. have in store for us this night; Will Norb sit in with Frasco and his band, will <\/span>Floyd Kellogg<\/span><\/strong> and <\/span>Zdenek Gubb<\/span><\/strong> have a bass bomb battle, will Fraso lead us in a 1000 person night-before-Passover Hora?  <\/span><\/p>\n

Andy Frasco leads the audience to an amazing Hanukkah Hora in December 2021. Will there be a Passover Hora in store for us in April 2022?<\/p>\n
