Certain artists pass through Washington DC without fans realizing it. With the frenetic pace of Washington DC and so many talented artists passing through our city, some artists slip under our radar without notice. One true gem coming to Washington DC next week is Aoife O\u2019Donovan<\/strong>, who will appear at The Kennedy Center<\/strong> on February 25th<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"Aoife<\/p>\n

Aoife O\u2019Donovan operates in a thrilling musical world beyond genre and has released two critically-acclaimed and boundary-blurring solo albums including her most recent record, 2022\u2019s Age of Apathy<\/em>.  This album was recorded and written over the course of winter and spring 2021.<\/p>\n

\"Aoife<\/p>\n

A savvy and generous collaborator, Aoife is one-third of the group I\u2019m With Her <\/strong>with bandmates Sara Watkins <\/strong>and Sarah Jarosz<\/strong>. The trio\u2019s debut album See You Around<\/em> was hailed as \u201cwillfully open-hearted\u201d by NPR Music.  Aoife spent the preceding decade as co-founder and front woman of the string band, Crooked Still<\/strong> and is the featured vocalist on The Goat Rodeo Sessions<\/em>\u2014the group with Yo-Yo Ma<\/strong>, Stuart Duncan<\/strong>, Edgar Meyer<\/strong>, and Chris Thile<\/strong>. She has appeared as a featured vocalist with over a dozen symphonies including our own beloved National Symphony Orchestra<\/strong>, written for Alison Krauss<\/strong>, performed with jazz trumpeter Dave Douglas,<\/strong> and spent a decade as a regular contributor to the radio variety shows Live From Here<\/em> and A Prairie Home Companion<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Aoife will be joined by Yasmin Williams<\/strong>, acclaimed acoustic fingerstyle guitarist with an unorthodox, modern style.  <\/p>\n

Aoife emerges from her role as Americana’s consummate collaborator to perform her “boldest material by far” (The New York Times<\/strong><\/a>)  her third solo studio record, Age Of Apathy <\/em>\u0097 at the majestic and iconic Kennedy Center.  If you were looking for a reason to get out and step inside The Kennedy Center, we can find no better reason than to come out and see Aoife on February 25th.<\/p>\n
