Larry Keel<\/strong> is set to bring his Larry Keel Experience<\/strong> to B Chord Brewing <\/strong>on Saturday, June 11th<\/strong>.  This appearance is a homecoming and hometown appearance for Keel who was born just a short distance from Round Hill, Virginia in Manassas and has musical roots in Fauquier County and the Shenandoah Valley.<\/p>\n

Larry Keel is an award-winning innovative flat-picking guitarist who was raised in a musical family steeped in the mountain culture of Appalachia, Virginia.  Keel began from an early age to forge a distinctive sound, taking traditional music and infusing it with modern light. With the acoustic guitar Keel has brought the flat-picking form to its highest level of sophistication and sonic power with his muscular, yet refined style of playing. As a composer and singer, Keel integrates raw honesty and charming grit to form a unique brand of music he calls ‘experimental folk’, songwriting that is filled with reality, imagination, imagery, and mood. He has appeared on over twenty albums, twelve of which he produced, and has written songs that have been recorded and performed by distinguished artists including Grammy-award winners Del McCoury<\/strong> and The Infamous Stringdusters<\/strong>. Keel has collaborated and continues to merge creative forces with some of the greatest artists in modern roots music such as Tyler Childers<\/strong>, Billy Strings<\/strong>, Al DiMeola<\/strong>, Tony Rice<\/strong>, Keller Williams<\/strong>, and Sam Bush<\/strong>, to name a few. <\/p>\n

Keel and his band are fresh off an electrifying performance at the Charm City Bluegrass Festival<\/strong> on April 29th.  What an incredible performance by this band in Baltimore, Maryland,  with a sizzling sit-in by fiddler Jeremy Garrett<\/strong> of The Infamous Stringdusters <\/strong>which included jaw-dropping  “Bron-Yr-Aur Stomp” by Led Zeppelin<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
