It is time to be festive for the holidays and we couldn’t imagine anything else that would make us giddy with delight than the news of DelFest’s initial lineup – DelYeah!<\/p>\n

DelFest<\/a>, the festival brainchild of Del McCoury<\/strong> and his extended McCoury family, is celebrating its 15th year in 2023, and for those who\u2019ve been all 14 years or those looking to make their first Memorial Day memories with Del and the gang, today is the day everyone\u2019s been waiting for: The initial DelFest 2023 lineup is here!<\/p>\n

From Trampled By Turtles<\/strong> to Pigeons Playing Ping Pong<\/strong>, Sierra Ferrell<\/strong> to Sierra Hull<\/strong>, and The Infamous Stringdusters<\/strong> to The California Honeydrops<\/strong>, this year\u2019s lineup once again reflects the all-encompassing musical community that festival hosts\u2014make that 2023 GRAMMY-nominated festival hosts\u2014The Del McCoury Band<\/strong> have cultivated over the years. Produced in conjunction with High Sierra Music and held at the Allegany County Fairgrounds in beautiful Cumberland, MD, DelFest originated from the desire to create a family-friendly music festival celebrating the rich legacy of McCoury music while creating a forum for world-class musical collaborations and showcasing fresh, new talent. This year\u2019s DelFest will, as usual, take place over Memorial Day weekend, May 25-28. <\/p>\n

Just in case you have never been to DelFest or need a refresher on how amazing DelFest 2022 was, event organizers assembled the following recap. Oh to be at Allegany County Fairgrounds and rejoice in the best festival we know.<\/p>\n

\"DelFest2023<\/p>\n

For DelFest 2023, The Del McCoury Band and The Travelin\u2019 McCourys will be joined by St. Paul & The Broken Bones<\/strong>, Trampled By Turtles<\/strong>, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong<\/strong>, The Infamous Stringdusters,<\/strong>The California Honeydrops<\/strong>, Sierra Ferrell<\/strong>, Sierra Hull<\/strong>, Rising Appalachia<\/strong>, The Tim O\u2019Brien Band<\/strong>, Peter Rowan & The Free Mexican Air Force with Los Texmaniacs<\/strong>, Lindsay Lou<\/strong>, Cris Jacobs<\/strong>, AJ Lee & Blue Summit<\/strong>, Troubadour Session<\/strong> (Cris Jacobs, Anna Moss, Lindsay Lou<\/strong>, and more), Kitchen Dwellers<\/strong>, The Broomestix<\/strong>, Junior Sisk<\/strong>, Price Sisters,<\/strong>Handmade Moments<\/strong>, and Birches Bend<\/strong>. As always, Joe Craven<\/strong>, will emcee for the weekend. <\/p>\n

\"DelFest2023<\/p>\n

In addition to traditional stage sets by these world-class artists, attendees can again expect to see one-of-a-kind collaborations, special guest sit-ins, various tributes to Del McCoury and his musical legacy, and intimate appearances from the aforementioned artists. Delfest will, as usual, be immediately preceded by the 3-day DelFest Academy<\/a> hosted by The Travelin\u2019 McCourys and other all-star players.  Don’t forget to pack your bathing suits and inner tubes so you can relax along the Potomac River for one or more of the truly special Riverside Session<\/strong> performances.<\/p>\n

DelFest is truly one of the most magical festivals in the region and is somewhat without words to describe it.  For those that have been to DelFest, this is a journey back to their home away from home – same campsite, same neighbors, same fun from sunrise to sunset, and memories that last a lifetime.  <\/p>\n

For those that have never been to DelFest, once you attend your first DelFest, you will understand why this is a beloved home and firmly affixed to the concert calendar for so many.  We hope the initial lineup announcement makes you just as happy as we are. Oh, the tremendous adventures we will have on the other side of Spring! Oh, how we shoulder shimmy with delight and anticipation for the magical memories yet to come!   DelYeah!<\/p>\n
