Peter Mulvey<\/span><\/strong> and <\/span>Anna Mieke<\/span><\/strong> are set to perform at Jammin’ Java in Vienna, Virginia, on February 5th, 2023.  These two artists are set to perform an incredible night of folk acoustic music at Jammin’ Java.  <\/span><\/p>\n

Mulvey is an established, and cherished folk musician who last performed at Jammin’ Java on March 27th, 2019, and alone is a compelling reason to venture to downtown Vienna.  This time around, Mulvey brings Ireland’s own and much-celebrated folk artist Anna Mieke.<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2019, Mieke released her critically acclaimed debut album, <\/span>Idle Mind,<\/span><\/em>  and earned her a nomination for ‘Best Emerging Act’ in Ireland.  Fast forward three years, Mieke was named ‘Best Irish Solo Act of 2022’ by <\/span>The Irish Times<\/strong><\/span><\/a>.  <\/span>Given the fantastic upward trajectory of Mieke’s music and career, it was time for her to set sail to America from her native shores.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Jammin’ Java performance is part of Anna Mieke’s first major North American tour in support of her latest album, <\/span>Theatre<\/span><\/em>, which was released in November 2022.  Her latest album envelopes listeners in the warmth of her world, radiating with an intense heat that lies closer to the desert or the jungle than her hometown of Wicklow, Ireland.  This album is a surreal soundtrack of a vast personal plain steeped in nostalgia, family, memory, death, and dreaming\u2013where gritty reality and romanticism meet.<\/span><\/p>\n

It is worth noting that if you are a fan of <\/span>Nick Drake,<\/span><\/strong> you are sure to love his influence on the music of Mieke. In a <\/span>2019 interview<\/span><\/a>, she recalled the profound influence Drake’s music had on her life and her music.<\/span><\/p>\n
