After over a decade as the centerpiece of popular Americana band The Whiskey Gentry<\/strong>, Lauren Morrow <\/strong>packed her bags, her dogs, her cats, and husband and moved to Nashville to pursue a career as a solo artist and grow her craft as a songwriter and performer. Within months, she released her first solo EP to widespread critical acclaim and landed on many Best Of year ends lists from Rolling Stone<\/strong> to Garden & Gun<\/strong>, quickly launching her already budding career and sending it into hyperdrive. Over the next year, Morrow filmed an episode for PBS\u2019 Bluegrass Underground <\/strong>and toured the US playing festivals such as Pickathon<\/strong> and Bristol Rhythm & Roots<\/strong> to name a few.<\/p>\n

Morrow\u2019s new album, People Talk<\/em>, released on March 31, showcases her flawless vocals and intricate songwriting, but also her willingness to take risks \u2014 an edge that makes her stand out from the Nashville norm. Whether she\u2019s singing an alternative\/indie rock banger, a classic-country crooner, or a traditional lovesick ballad, there\u2019s a unique impression she leaves that lingers and is unlike anything you\u2019ve heard before.<\/p>\n

“Lauren Morrow has always displayed a keen ear for twangy ballads and fiery rockers that are gritty and heartfelt. People Talk finds Morrow exploring her beyond-country influences like 90s Alternative, Britpop, and 80s New Wave bands with moody, brutally honest lyrical content and rock n roll attitudes; all with Morrow\u2019s signature soprano and vulnerable vibrato and a host of atypically-Americana vibes and tones. The end result is a patiently cultivated and refined sound not unfamiliar to fans, but a pure expression of everything Morrow is made of\u2014not just what we\u2019ve seen so far.<\/span><\/p>\n
