Washington DC better get ready because two bands of epic proportions are coming to <\/span>The Atlantis<\/span><\/strong> on Sunday, March 3rd – <\/span>Neighbor<\/span><\/strong> and <\/span>Kendall Street Company<\/span><\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

These two powerhouse bands are prepared to deliver hours of music, bliss, and shenanigans to DC’s newest venue. Each of these bands has performed in and around Washington DC regularly and brings with them a vast swath of fans.  <\/span><\/p>\n

The bands each have a distinctive style and sound. Still, one thing is certain: this night of music will surely delight everyone with a full spectrum of sonic sounds ranging from soulful songs to explosive jams and peaking solos to the unexpected and unpredictable shenanigans unfolding before our eyes. <\/span><\/p>\n

Neighbor<\/span><\/strong> began as a collaboration between childhood neighbors<\/span> Richard James <\/span><\/strong>(keyboard\/vocals) and his childhood neighbor <\/span>Lyle Brewer<\/span><\/strong> (guitarist). James and Brewer recruited two exceptional musicians, <\/span>Dan Kelly<\/span><\/strong> (bass) and <\/span>Dean Johnston <\/span><\/strong>(drummer), to join the band.<\/span>  <\/span><\/strong>What started as a simple residency each Tuesday at <\/span>Thunder Road<\/span><\/strong> in Somerville, Massachusetts, has become a remarkable group of virtuosic musicians. Although the band first gained a following in Boston, then throughout New England, and has expanded its reach to all corners of the country and beyond, including the international waters aboard <\/span>Jam Cruise<\/span><\/strong> and appearances at <\/span>Camp Greensky Iceland<\/span><\/strong> in Reykjavik alongside <\/span>Greensky Bluegrass<\/span><\/strong>. <\/span><\/p>\n

Kendall Street Company<\/span><\/strong> is a genre-fluid, eclectic rock ensemble from Charlottesville, Virginia. The band has drawn varied comparisons to the dynamic jams of <\/span>Umphrey’s McGee<\/span><\/strong> and <\/span>Widespread Panic<\/span><\/strong>, the songwriting of <\/span>John Prine<\/span><\/strong>, the experimental psychedelia of <\/span>Pink Floyd<\/span><\/strong>, the progressive jazz-infused rock of <\/span>Frank Zappa<\/span><\/strong>, and the off-color humor of <\/span>Ween<\/span><\/strong> and <\/span>They Might Be Giants<\/span><\/strong>. In addition to their reputation as must-see live performers, The Company’s prolific immunity to writer’s block has led them to release over 100 original songs between seven studio albums, two live albums, and four EPs in just six years. Their live shows often include unreleased and improvised tracks and covers ranging from <\/span>The<\/span><\/strong> <\/span>Grateful Dead<\/span><\/strong> to <\/span>DEVO<\/span><\/strong> to <\/span>Alanis Morisette<\/span><\/strong> to <\/span>Soulja Boy<\/span><\/strong>. With a full in-ear monitor and multitrack recording rig built, the band continues to capture the moments that mean the most to fans. This band has an ambitious plan for 2024, as they will release a new single each month.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n
