Lost Dog Street Band <\/strong>have risen from the ashes and announce  their latest album, Survived<\/em>, and will be touring this spring including a performance on Saturday, May 4th<\/strong>, at The Howard Theatre<\/strong> in Washington, DC.<\/p>\n

After being part of a music group called Barefoot Surrender<\/strong>, Bejamin Tod<\/strong> and bandmate Ashley Mae<\/strong> formed the Lost Dog Street Band in 2010.  After this dark country band released its 2022 album Glory<\/em>, bandleader Benjamin Tod decided it was time to retire the project.  But just a month after recording a solo project in January of 2023, Tod felt an urge to revisit the project one more time.<\/p>\n

Benjamin Tod said, \u201cI\u2019m not sure if there is any other song I\u2019ve written that gives quite the emotions this one does…. It\u2019s hard to explain but it\u2019s somewhere between fulfilling a last will and relief from a long hard struggle.\u201d Whether intentional or not, it makes perfect sense, as this tune\u2014a brand new single called \u201cBrighter Shade\u201d\u2014is the first new music to be released from Lost Dog Street Band<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought I was done with Lost Dog, but after recording my solo album, I looked over all the songs that I had ready for a new record,\u201d remembers Tod. \u201cThese were songs for my band. I had to admit to myself that I wasn’t done with Lost Dog.\u201d That energy is infectious throughout the album, beginning with the opener \u201cBrighter Shade.\u201d Guitar melodies interlock with Ashley Mae\u2019s fiddle line, providing plenty of room for a staggering mandolin part and shuffling drums.<\/p>\n

This highly anticipated album will be released on April 26th – only a few days before their Howard Theatre performance.   Thankfully for the band, Survived<\/em> is only the start of a fresh new chapter for the band and we look forward to hearing these brand new songs performed live on May 4th.  <\/p>\n<\/p>\n
