More than 40,000 people came out to watch the bands perform on the 11th&nbsp;stop of their 20 city Revolution 3 (Rev3) Tour.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As tri-headliners the bands rotated their performance order during each show on the tour. At the <strong>Jiffy Lube Live <\/strong>show, The Cult hit the stage first, followed up Stone Temple Pilots and then Bush. Each of the bands played a full set of music.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Dirty Hooks<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Opening for the tri-headliners was LasVegas-based &nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/thedirtyhooks.com\/\" style=\"-webkit-user-select: none;\" target=\"_blank\">The Dirty Hooks<\/a>\u200b, which joined the Rev3 tour in August and are set to play through the end of the tour on September 2nd<sup>\u200b<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>Commenting on the show at Jiffy Lube Live, the band\u2019s co-lead vocalist and bassist <strong>Bobby McCall<\/strong> said: \u201cIt\u2019s been the best response yet as far as the crowd goes. The fans were amazing &amp; some of the best people we\u2019ve had the pleasure of talking to so far on the Rev3 tour.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>An indie\/garage\/blues\/rock trio, Dirty Hooks also consists of co-lead vocalist and drummer <strong>Jenine Cali<\/strong> and guitarist\/keyboardist<strong> Anthony Ratto<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Dirty Hooks performed 5 songs at the show, starting off with &#8220;Cicada Tree&#8221;<em>&nbsp;<\/em>and finishing with &#8220;Midnight Runway.<em>&#8220;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Cult<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>First up of the tri-headliners was <a href=\"http:\/\/thecult.us\/HIDDEN_CITY\/\" style=\"-webkit-user-select: none;\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>The Cult<\/strong><\/a>\u200b, starting off by performing three songs from the 80\u2019s: &#8220;Wild Flower<em>&#8221;&nbsp;<\/em>(1987) from their album <em>Electric, &#8220;<\/em>Rain<em>&#8221;&nbsp;<\/em>(1985) from <em>Love,<\/em> and &#8220;Spiritwalker&#8221;&nbsp;(1984) of the band\u2019s debut album <em>Dreamtime.<\/em>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Formed in 1983 in the UK, The Cult began as a post-punk\/gothic rock band before breaking into mainstream in the U.S. in the late 1980\u2019s as a hard rock band. Under various line-ups, the original band split up in 1995, then reunited from 1999 to 2002, and then got back together again in 2006 to the present.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Two of The Cult\u2019s members have been with band since its founding: lead vocalist\/guitarist\/ percussionist&nbsp;<strong>Ian Astbury<\/strong> and lead guitarist<strong> Bill Duffy<\/strong>. Drummer <strong>John Tempesta<\/strong> joined the band in 2006. Many of the concertgoers were likely seeing <strong>Jeff Gutt<\/strong>, the new lead singer, perform for the first time live and the buzz among the crowd about Gutt\u2019s performance\u2014and the entire band\u2014was extremely positive.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Formed in 1989 in San Diego, STP\u2019s original lineup remained unchanged with the exception of the lead singer Weiland, who left the band in 2013.&nbsp;<strong>Chester Bennington<\/strong>, of<strong> Linkin Par<\/strong><strong>k<\/strong>, replaced Weiland in May 2013 until Nov. 2015. Tragically, Weiland died of an overdose in Dec. 2015 and Bennington by suicide in July 2107. Hardwick<\/strong>, drummer with&nbsp;<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unclejessemusic.com\/\" style=\"-webkit-user-select: none;\">Uncle Jesse<\/a>&nbsp;<\/em>and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/MakeMoreAnimals\/\" style=\"-webkit-user-select: none;\"><em>Make More Animals<\/em><\/a>. \u201cThat said, any true fan of the STP music got exactly what they needed last Sunday. The band was tighter than ever and it was great to see them so connected with the crowd.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI thought Jeff Gutt was exceptional as the new frontman,\u201d agreed <strong>Michael Hynes<\/strong>, guitarist\/backing vocalist in&nbsp;<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/VintageKittyBand\/\" style=\"-webkit-user-select: none;\">Vintage Kitty<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/em>\u201cHe really played the part. He sounded and looked like Scott Weiland. People scrambled to get close to the singer who sang enthusiastically with an entourage of admiring fans following along while attempting to take photos. When Rossdale returned to the stage to conclude the song the audience clapped and cheered with tremendous appreciation.<\/p>\n<p>Topping off the show, Bush performed &#8220;Comedown,&#8221;&nbsp;which seemed to perfectly evoke the mood of the audience.
