Relative new-comers to American audiences, The Sherlocks played DC9, in Washington, DC on November 9, 2017.  The Sherlocks, originally from South Yorkshire, England, fit the “britpop”  and “indie rock” sound description, and mixed both electric and acoustic guitar songs in their setlist. <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/span>\"\"<\/span><\/p>\n

The band is made up of two sets of brothers Kiaran Crook <\/strong>(lead vocals, guitar), Brandon Crook<\/strong> (drums), Josh Davidson<\/strong> (guitar) and Andy Davidson <\/strong>(bass).  The night’s performance was  a mix of their earlier singles and songs off their new and debut album, Live for the Moment<\/em>, released in August 2017.  <\/p>\n

Although relatively unknown to a DC audience, The Sherlocks are well known in their native Britain.  The popular group has played to large audiences of up to 90,000 in the United Kingdom (UK), at the Reading Festival <\/strong>and Leeds Festival<\/strong> and a couple of their singles have hit the number one spot on the Official UK Vinyl Singles Chart.  In 2016, the band played their first large-scale U.S. music festival, SXSW<\/strong> in Austin, Texas.  <\/p>\n

This most recent U.S. tour is yet another step in The Sherlock’s effort to bridge the gap across the Atlantic and further introduce themselves to American audiences.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/span>\"\"<\/span><\/p>\n

The DC9 Nightclub show was the last of six stops on their first east coast north American tour, before heading back to the UK. At the closing of the show, the band expressed their appreciation to the DC crowd for turning out on a cold and rainy night.  The relaxed atmosphere of DC9’s upstairs performance area also allowed the audience to meet and talk with the band following their performance.  The Sherlocks plan to return in January 2018 for more tour stops in California.<\/p>\n

The Sherlocks take a bow at DC9. DC Music Review looks forward to these burgeoning superstars next visit to the Washington DC Metro Area.<\/p>\n
