DC may be the birthplace of Go-Go, but it also has a thriving music community filled with artists covering the entire musical landscape. Washington Area musicians will be honored and celebrated in the following categories: Bluegrass, Blues, Childrens Music, Country \/ Americana, Electronic \/ Techno, Folk, Fun, GoGo, Gostpel, Hard Rock, Hip Hop, Jazz, Latin, Pop, Punk, R&amp;B, Rap, Reggae, Rock, Soul, and World Music. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are excited to announce this substantial list of talented artists in the Washington region. It\u2019s by far one of the most diverse nominee cohorts we\u2019ve seen across categories, and we can\u2019t wait to announce the winners over the first ever Wammie Weekend.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">\/\/<\/span><strong><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">&nbsp;Jeffery Tribble, Jr.&nbsp;<\/span><\/strong> &#8211; Executive Director, The MusicianShip<\/p>\n<p>As an active member in the DMV, DC Music Review, is truly delighted to help celebrate the achievements of each an every artist in the region as they practice, explore, study, and expand their craft. We celebrate the achievements of both emerging and established artists as they take to the stage and recording studios throughout the region.<\/p>\n<p>For a full list of finalists please see the Wammie&#8217;s finalists list (https:\/\/www.wammiesdc.org\/wammieweekend\/finalists\/) . \u200bWith 150 nominees in 62 categories it would be too long a list to include here, but we would like to \u200btip our hats to every artist that is a part of the DC music scene, whether they were nominated for an award or not.\u200b The amount of talent that is listed shows just how vibrant and thriving the area&#8217;s music community is and the depth and breadth of music and music genres coming out of the area.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 1em;\">This year, the Wammies will take place on March 30 &amp; 31 in Washington DC and includes day conference held on Saturday in addition to the award ceremony held on Sunday.<\/span>&nbsp; We encourage you to attend the Wammie Day Conference brought to you by The MusicainShip.
