On Thursday March 14th, downtown Austin, TX was buzzing with SXSW festivities. Off of the bustling streets, and in the Driskill Hotel<\/strong> critically-acclaimed musician Rebecca Loebe<\/strong> charmed the Victorian Room crowd.<\/p>\n

\"Rebecca<\/span>\"Rebecca<\/span><\/p>\n

After playing her first song, she had clearly made quite an impression because walking through the audience one could hear murmurs of, \u201cwow she\u2019s SO good,\u201d and, \u201cis she performing at SX at all again, what\u2019s her schedule?\u201d She has a comfortable, laid-back stage presence that would be impossible to fake, a natural performer, and a great story teller.<\/p>\n

\"Rebecca<\/span>\"Rebecca<\/span><\/p>\n

The self-proclaimed, \u201cpathologically brightside oriented,\u201d artist played songs from her newly released fifth studio album, Giving Up Your Ghosts<\/em>, and her optimism is made clear through her utterly relatable lyrics. In addition to her lyrics, the anecdotes she shared before a few songs, including one that was, \u201cthe most embarrassing thing that\u2019s ever happened,\u201d before performing, \u201cHigh School Movie,\u201d not only empowered her lyrics, but made audience members laugh, share their love for Kroger grocery stores, and sit on the edge of their seats, waiting for more. After the show, one viewer even came up to her, and thanked Loebe for sharing her stories.<\/p>\n

While the charismatic musician\u2019s album is new, her SXSW appearance was not. In fact, before performing, \u201cLake Louise,\u201d a song about going home, she even shared that she played the Victoria Room at the Driskill Hotel during SXSW 2018.<\/p>\n

Ending the evening with a song, \u201cfor all of those who went to middle school,\u201d titled, \u201cPopular,\u201d the optimistic Arlington, VA native stayed after the show to greet listeners, and watch the rest of the musicians perform. <\/p>\n

Although there are no more DMV dates scheduled on her current tour schedule, be on the lookout for Loebe afer she returns to the United States after her month-long European Tour. Until then, you and your friends should be on the lookout for Loebe coming to a music venue near you soon at one of the following performances<\/a>.<\/p>\n
