The 2019 Festival Season is quickly approaching and one of our favorite camping music festivals is less than a month away – Domefest<\/strong>!<\/p>\n

Domefest will be held May 16-18 at <\/span>Marvin’s Mountaintop <\/strong>in Masontown, WV. This festival is put on and headlined by Baltimore’s beloved band<\/span> Pigeons Playing Ping Pong<\/strong>. <\/span>What makes this year significant and memorable is this year marks and celebrates Domefest’s tenth iteration – or as some affectionately call it ‘Dome-X.’ <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to five sets of funky Flock’s music, the band brings some of their favorite friends from Baltimore in addition to some of their friends gathered from throughout the country. <\/span>This year’s festival includes a stellar lineup with performances by Aqueous<\/strong>, The Magic Beans<\/strong>, Litz<\/strong>, Mugnion<\/strong>, The Fritz<\/strong>, West End Blend<\/strong>, Dirty Grass Players<\/strong> and many many more. You will also have the opportunity to see Ben Carrey<\/strong> with his side project Schwa<\/strong>, Alex Petropulos <\/strong>with his side project Puremotion<\/strong>, and Greg Ormont’s <\/strong>solo project Scrambled Greg<\/strong>. Added to this year’s lineup is The Domefest All-Stars <\/strong>which should make for an incredible performance.<\/p>\n

No matter what you are looking for in a festival, Domefest has it – music, yoga, workshops, late night activities.<\/p>\n

One thing that we love about this festival is it’s is a relatively small festival that attracts some of the most passionate Pigeons and music fansther. Domefest purposely limits the capacity of the festival to ensures that each attendee \/ Flocker \/ Domie, can have a genuinely comfortable and exceptional experience. The festival production has arranged interactive and welcoming displays throughout the venue. <\/p>\n

\"Celebrate<\/span>\"Celebrate<\/span><\/p>\n

Domefest tries to capture the spirit of celebrating the people, and the bands that the audience loves.  When you attend this festival also be prepared to have up-close and down-to-earth interactions with performers. The spirit and magic of Domefest is a direct result of the genuine love and appreciation of festivals by Pigeon’s band members. They have found taken notes over the years and have made Domefest the type of festival that they would want to attend. Yes, there are some restricted areas set aside for logistical purposes but that aside, be prepared for Ben Carrey to hold a workshop or attend a yoga class, be checked into the festival gate by Jeremy Schon or Greg Ormont, or enjoy a friendly conversation with another artist as they mill about the campgrounds.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The staff of DC Music Review sincerely believes that that character of a festival is defined not by what happens on the stage, but what happens off the stage. Domefest shows us that there truly is “No Place Like Dome!” This motto becomes especially clear when hanging out with your fellow flock members and Domies in and around the festival!<\/p>\n
