Talking about how happy they were to be starting out their tour in Washington, D.C. a place that they are quite familiar with and have many State Department friends from their travels abroad through the organization, the ladies were all about supporting the local government and military folks. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"width: 100%\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"Della Mae performs at The Hamilton DC\" width=\"1024\" height=\"620\" title=\"Della Mae performs at The Hamilton DC\" data-id=\"87840\" src=\"\/\/www.dcmusicreview.com\/staging\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/JAH_0443.jpg\" style=\"width: 100%\"><\/span><span style=\"width: 100%\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"Della Mae performs at The Hamilton DC\" width=\"1024\" height=\"620\" title=\"Della Mae performs at The Hamilton DC\" data-id=\"87840\" src=\"\/\/www.dcmusicreview.com\/staging\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/JAH_0443.jpg\" style=\"width: 100%\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Between songs, lead singer <strong>Celia Woodsmith<\/strong> and fiddle player and founder of the band, <strong>Kimber Ludiker<\/strong>, also kept the crowd entertained with their stories and banter back and forth. The audience and band members alike shared many a giggle throughout the venue as the quintet shared songs new and old as well as some of the stories behind them.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"width: 100%\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"Celia Woodsmith of Della Mae performs at The Hamilton DC\" width=\"690\" height=\"1024\" title=\"Celia Woodsmith of Della Mae performs at The Hamilton DC\" data-id=\"87841\" src=\"\/\/www.dcmusicreview.com\/staging\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/JAH_0517.jpg\" style=\"width: 100%\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Celia Woodsmith of Della Mae performs at The Hamilton DC<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"width: 100%\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"Celia Woodsmith of Della Mae performs at The Hamilton DC\" width=\"690\" height=\"1024\" title=\"Celia Woodsmith of Della Mae performs at The Hamilton DC\" data-id=\"87841\" src=\"\/\/www.dcmusicreview.com\/staging\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/JAH_0517.jpg\" style=\"width: 100%\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Celia Woodsmith of Della Mae performs at The Hamilton DC<\/p>\n<p>From an electricfying version of <strong>The Allman Brothers<\/strong> &#8220;Whipping Post,&#8221; which is featured on their new EP, to love ballads written for husbands and tales inspired by neighbors lovemaking like &#8220;The Most,&#8221; it is obvious why they are seen on more and more lineups across the country and beyond. &nbsp;Not only the amazing skills on the instruments but the vocal capability of Celia that is front and center is beyond impressive. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The audience was filled with fans that seem to know them on a personal level and folks that just wanted to enjoy great music at a great venue. &nbsp;Shout outs to some members of the audience as well as an opener that guitar player<strong> Courtney Hartman <\/strong>had previously played with, <strong>Becky Warren<\/strong>, it seemed that everyone in the venue was in good company.
