A collaboration between indie singer-songwriter <strong>Kevin Devine<\/strong> and <strong>Manchester Orchestra<\/strong>\u2019s <strong>Andy Hull<\/strong> and <strong>Robert McDowell<\/strong>, Bad Books came to fruition after the artists toured across the US and UK between 2007-2009. <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"width: 100%;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"\" width=\"4745\" height=\"3796\" title=\"Bad-Books-Credit-Brian-Manley-1\" data-id=\"94372\" src=\"\/\/www.dcmusicreview.com\/staging\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/Bad-Books-Credit-Brian-Manley-1.jpg\" style=\"width: 100%; user-select: none;\" scale=\"0\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Their first and self-titled studio album, released in October 2010, contained five songs written by Hull and six written by Devine, including the single \u201cYou Wouldn\u2019t Have to Ask\u201d. Exactly two years later, they released their second studio album, <em>II, <\/em>with songs like \u201cThe After Party\u201d and \u201cForest Whitaker\u201d which was featured on an episode of \u201cHow I Met Your Mother\u201d.&nbsp;&nbsp;For Hull and Devine, Bad Books is the creative outlet where they can experiment with music in a way that differs from their main projects. Now seven years since the release of&nbsp;<em>II<\/em>, Bad Books is ready to put more of their music into the world with their third album,&nbsp;<em>III<\/em>. The music video for \u201cUFO\u201d which premiered last week is available to watch below, just in time for the tour kick off next Wednesday in Chicago. Bad Books will be stopping in the DC area on <strong>June 23<sup>rd<\/sup><\/strong> to perform at the <strong>Milkboy Arthouse<\/strong> in College Park, MD. <\/p>\n<p>The tour will continue along the northeast in June before heading out on the west coast leg of the tour in June. Joining Bad Books on tour will be <strong>Brother Bird<\/strong>, Nashville-based solo project of Caroline Swon who recently toured with Manchester Orchestra in the fall.
