The progressive rock quartet TAUK brings their all-instrumental blend of progressive rock, hip-hop and jazz to the State Theatre in Falls Church on Halloween, October 31st with special guests LITZ. This fall tour supports TAUK's recently Released album Chaos Companion (Please listen to album embedded below).
TAUK has been performing across the United States for the last several years, and recently released several iterations of “Real TAUK”, to document some of the great moments from each tour. Each Real TAUK release showcases the potent chemistry they discovered in childhood, when longtime friends Charles Dolan, Matt Jalbert, and A.C. Carter formed their first band in seventh grade. After playing together in various projects, the trio brought Isaac Teel into the fold in 2012, cementing the final lineup. Since then, TAUK have shared stages with acts like Umphrey’s McGee, Widespread Panic, and Lettuce, appeared at festivals like Electric Forest and Bonnaroo, and earned acclaim from major outlets like the Washington Post (who praised TAUK for “creating a hard-charging, often melodic fusion that—thanks to a penchant for improv—offers limitless possibilities”). The band’s incessant touring over the years has significantly strengthened their musical connection.
Supporting TAUK is Maryland's own beloved LITZ. This band has some equally tantalizing jam-funk originals. LITZ delightfully intertwines rock and funk with mesmerizing dance rhythms, and imaginative lyrics. LITZ has been shaking things up since 2013 and has performed at festivals and clubs throughout the country.
We can only wonder what sort of Halloween shenanigans TAUK and LITZ have planned this Spooktacular evening!
We will all have to tune in to see if this funktastic night of music will make it into the next "Real TAUK." But why wait to see the next episode when you can attend and take in a spectacular night of music on October 31st!
