Tedeschi Trucks Band Announces Their 2023 Warner Theatre Residency

Tedeschi Trucks Band just announced their 2023 Warner Theatre run, and we could not be more excited to hear this news.

Tedeschi Trucks is no stranger to the Warner Theatre and has been regularly performing here each winter since 2011.  In 2011 they performed a single show. Since then, this band has become a juggernaut and one of America's premier rock-and-roll big bands. With that unsurpassed power and momentum, their Warner Theatre performances have evolved into an eagerly awaited two-weekend six-night residency which almost always sells out.

What makes this year's Warner Theatre residency different is the addition of the band's newest project - I Am The Moon. This project is an epic, 4-album project with accompanying videos released this summer.

Tedeschi Trucks Band - I Am The Moon

I Am The Moon evolved as an extension of the band's now legendary performance at the 2019 LOCKN' Festival, where they performed  Derek and the Dominos album Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs in its entirety with Trey Anastasio.  I Am The Moon began as a pandemic-related writing exercise suggested by TTB vocalist Mike Mattison in May 2020  and transformed into a career-defining artistic statement as TTB reimagined the mythic Persian tale of star-crossed lovers, Layla and Majnun, through a modern-day lens: capturing the power of devotion in a time of crisis and separation.

Tedeschi Trucks Band - I Am The Moon

The endeavor evolved into Tedeschi Trucks Band's fifth studio release that finds them "at their finest and most adventurous" (NPR) with 24 original songs.  The four albums and four album-length companion films - I. Crescent, II. Ascension, III. The FallIV. Farewell - were released over four consecutive months this summer, beginning June 3rd. It is an astonishing amalgamation of soul, rock, blues, funk, roots, and Eastern influences, sweeping artistic ambition, and an exceptional quality of collective songwriting and musicianship that make I Am The Moon one of the year's most essential recordings.

How will I Am The Moon's songs make their way and be intertwined into the band's Warner Theatre Residency? During the band's summer Wheels of Soul performance at Wolf TrapI Am The Moon's songs were only half released, and the released ones were just making their way into the band's live performances.

We will all have to purchase tickets to their Warner Theatre performances in order to see how these 24 new songs will dovetail and weave their way into a residency.

Their residency starts on - Thursday, February 16th, and culminates on Saturday, March 4th. We look forward to sharing a seat by the roaring music that awaits us on some cold Winter days in February and March 2023.

The ticket sale schedule can be found below. If you look at the schedule, you may even spot the band's pre-sale code (wink wink).

As we wait for the band's Warner Theatre Residency to begin, you can find all the albums and videos associated with this colossal musical achievement by this truly one-of-a-kind and treasured band.

Spotlight: I Am The Moon

I Am The Moon is an epic four-part album series.  This is an incredible undertaking and Tedeschi Trucks Band's most ambitious yet.  The band released four albums with four accompanying films - distinct and, at the same time, deeply connected.   In total, the band delivers 24 new songs inspired by classical literature - the themes and story of Layla and Majnun - reimagined through a modern lens and delivered with the power that only this twelve-piece wall of sound band can deliver.
