The DMV Slowly Reopens And So Does Live Music!

Right now, our whole world feels like a giant paint by numbers canvas. With each passing day, we notice more and more areas slowly colored in. It certainly was a long hard winter, but just as the spring flowers arrived and filled our world with colors, we have noticed that more and more venues are slowly opening up for live music performances as guidances have been relaxed and vaccines have rolled out.

Over the past year, there were announcements here and there as fans cautiously attended drive-in and outdoor lawn performances. We would like to especially thank Crescendo Studios, B Chord Brewing, The State Theatre, All Good Presents Showtime at the Drive-in, and others that provided safe havens for music lovers over the last year.

Last week, the modest trickle of show announcements reached a tipping point when I.M.P.  Entertainment  announced performances at Merriweather Post Pavillion.

Suddenly our blank color by numbers canvas is not so blank anymore. We expect more and more venues to start announcing live performances with certain restrictions in place.

We still highly encourage everyone to practice social distancing and following evolving CDC and health guidelines. Please recognize that everyone is coming out of this pandemic differently and be kind to our musical family. Some people are still a little skittish around others, some may not be fully vaccinated yet, and some are just trying to navigate our new normal. We all want to enjoy our musical happy places, but we ask that you be kind to everyone around you.

Most of all, we encourage you to buy food and drinks from the venues, tip your waitstaff well and buy plenty of items from the artist merch booths. Please make sure to show ALL the artists and venues some love, from the smallest acts and venues to the largest, just as we pulled through this together we need need to continue supporting everyone together.

Here is a partial list of music venues that are opening and we expect more and more venues to start announcing performances soon.

DC Venues

Maryland Venues

Virginia Venues

We apologize in advance if we have missed any venues with live music, the landscape is rapidly changing.
