Umphrey’s McGee Prepared To Leave Everyone Standing Tall In Their Boots At The Anthem

Umphrey's McGee is set to perform at The Anthem yet again on February 18th, 2022, and when they do, you can expect to see the District Wharf filled with nothing but overflowing UMPH LOVE. This is far from Umphrey's McGee first performance at The Anthem - but it is the first performance since their fabled Halloween 2019 performance.

Umphrey’s McGee Calls the Police on Halloween at the Anthem
Umphrey’s McGee made their triumphant return to Washington, DC on Thursday, playing their second ever show at The Anthem.  The sextet[...]

The music of Umphrey's McGee unfolds like an unpredictable conversation between longtime friends from South Bend, Indiana, who formed in 1997. These six friends —Brendan Bayliss (guitar/vocals), Jake Cinninger (guitar, vocals), Joel Cummins (keyboards/piano/vocals), Andy Farag (percussion), Kris Myers (drums/vocals), and Ryan Stasik (bass)—know just how to communicate with each other on stage. Although they are lumped into the generalized category of "jam band," they go well beyond any simple label. The band experiments with many musical styles that include rock, metal, funk, jazz, blues, reggae, electronic, and folk music.

Not to detract from the expansive catalog of original songs - but have you heard any of their covers, let alone their Halloween performances? We cannot guarantee they will perform a cover song, but it is something to behold when they do!

We can all fondly reflect on the last Umprey's show we saw with a gleeful twinkle in our eye.  How many of us have heard their latest songs performed live?  On July 16th, 2021, Umphrey's released their latest album, YOU WALKED UP SHAKING IN YOUR BOOTS BUT YOU STOOD TALL AND LEFT A RAGING BULL.  This 12-track instrumental album has some electric track that are soon to be fan favorites and performance staples. We highly recommend you watch the video below where Jake Cinninger tells the tale that spawned the albums title.

Up to this date the band has performed all but one song to their live music catalog (Editor Note: As of February 10th, 2022).  Perhaps we will even hear the live debut of "Le Sac" at their The Anthem performance on February 18th? This anticipated debut aside, this this is your opportunity stand tall, rage hard, and show your UMPH LOVE when you see Umphrey's McGee perform these bullish songs at The Anthem.
